Clayton's 21st Birthday Party ~ Frontera Tex Mex Grill...

Clayton "the birthday boy", Nannie, David and I arrived for dinner ~
Frontera Tex Mex Grill on "Sugarloaf Parkway" Its de-lish~!
~ March 2, 2009

Rare, that you get to see a picture of me (i hate pictures of me...) but for Clayton to
have something to remember me by..... we take pictures at birthdays and "special
occasions". They placed a "cool sombre" on his head ~ birthday festivities...

David you are being mighty quiet tonight... but fun of course...

Clayton, you need a birthday "peck" on the cheek......come on~

"Nannie" what are you doing? And, Clayton you sure look "smug" with your
birthday "dessert"....... that hat is "styling"....
They are a "mess" together always
not sure who is the bad influence...
probably "Nannie".

And, he eats dessert....

"Clayton, you aren't going to share?"
Oh, "Nannie" did you want a bite?
ummmm... she said, the cinnamon crust is the best~!

As always, we had a great & rowdy time. Well "rowdy" for us.
You know part "Italian" ~ part "Southern" ~ what a mess....
Clayton enjoyed his birthday festivities anyway and that is whats important....
He got 146 birthday messages and ecards from friends...
wow, Clay-10 you have
lots of "buds"....

Clayton is "still celebrating" ~ he has plans with his friends this weekend, a trip to
"Uncle Julio's" for dinner (its terrific...).
Reminds me of my Dad, "Butch" ~ he celebrated his birthday for weeks..... and told ever one, every day of his birthday month.... "that way no one would forget" ~ he say.

We missed you terribly, Lindsey ~ but, realizing that you and Steven live
over an hour away on a "leftover icy snowy Monday" ~
we didn't want to have you drive so far so late at night...... ~!

Now, you'll be pleased to know that "Nannie" and I had a fun outing this afternoon. We
try to do something fun every month ~ sometimes for the day, sometimes just an afternoon.
I have pictures..... and will share that tomorrow.
Getting ready now for "Louisa Elle's" home
this evening... maybe I'll take my camera...?

"Village" Closed for Snow Days... but many treasures can be found inside....

As with most Sunday's, Dari comes by for a picture update for the website... this Sunday much to her surprise, her outing and booth replenish was cut short due to our "winter snow..." , that Ground Hog said we would have an early spring.....
nope, we got snow ~ then ice.
So, for the protection of our dealers who work each day
at the "village" we closed both Sunday and Monday ~ below are some Sunday shots ~ and some "village thoughts" ~ that I think you will enjoy.

"Store closed but many treasures inside...."
Yes, the celebration continues..... Clayton isn't finished yet.
I'll share some funny pictures later in the week of his 21st birthday conclusion...

Its time for "rabbits, bunnies & chicks oh my....." all at the "village"

My guess is this darling "memo board" or is it a "memory board" is in the Mmg spot,
Michelle has a talented daughter ~ wait til you see what I got from her on Saturday...
Yes, Lew ~ I love this, Teapot turned recipe/picture holder with old flatware....
keep them coming. Great for Mother's day...
haven't seen this "precious baby" ~ Zuri before, who brought her in?
She won't stay long
what a "cutie"~!

Whimsy ~ did you do that pretty altered art oval?

Fox or is it Piggy~? ~ What a lovely vintage mirrored dresser....

Dari shared this with me in an email during our "snow". Thought it was interesting perspective from another "talent" at the "village". I feel much the same but
didn't know how to put it quite so eloquently...

"One of my favorite things about Vintage Village is the vision that so many of our dealers bring with the items they offer. Americans are known for their ingenuity and my grandmother, having lived through the depression, always said, "Use it up, wear it out or make it do." "Make-do's" are still among my favorite treasures and I have found so many joyful pieces at Vintage Village. Where else can you find architectural pieces like gingerbread fretwork rescued from a Victorian home, pretty lace and cherubs that have taken up residence on dainty oval frames, or ironwork fern stands transformed into serving plates and napkins for patio guests."

~ This is all very very true ~ come see us, you'll not be disappointed~!
The "village" reopens today ~ March 3 to begin our diligent selling for our new month....
For today, an outing with "Clayton" ~ that promises to be fun, tomorrow afternoon I'm back at the "village" ~ pictures from "upstairs" my priority. I have figured out the camera battery so I'm ready...

p.s. still have some "clayton" music going ~ love this song... it was on "greys" last week too...
and there is a "soup story" & more "winter wonderland" coming this week...
did you see the "bachelor" ~ I picked his choice, not his "break up" ~ how sad is that...?

Clayton's 21st birthday continued.....Complete with some Surprises...

Okay, a birthday for my 21 year old Son. SImple, huh? Not really ~ he deserves a surprise.
Not much of a dessert eater I came up with a plan. Today, I would surprise him on his birthday... So, around lunch time ~ I was off, on my "mission". Yes, it was preplanned so I knew exactly what had to happen...
I arrived, some icy roads to travel but nothing too bad.

Gosh, its all wrapped up and chilled ready to go... but I need a picture for my "blog" ~ I may not see it again, if Clayton decides to share... So explaining, the gentleman that prepared this beauty is so gracious to unwrap it for my photo's, oh Gosh...
lots of trouble that was ~ I promised a recommendation to all my "blog friends" ~they liked that. Its the Edible Arrangments on Sugarloaf just past the YMCA - it will be on your left. They are so nice in there ~ and the arrangements are the BEST~! Even, have them ready in the "snow". Go see them and tell them you know "hag".

Now, how cute is this... and healthy too. No birthday cake for my
"conditioning Son", instead his favorites ~ strawberries, bananas (dipped in white & milk chocolate) and some red grapes on long sticks... the numbers 21 in pineapple and a birthday balloon. I'm so impressed with my idea, what do you think?

Without delay, Mom on a "mission" arrives at the snow hilighted Chick-fil-a for the
"birthday hug", some "sweet tea" ~ I love theirs...
and of course, to drop off my surprise.
I have everything worked out so well, I even impress myself...

Clayton & Jessie ~ one of his managers. They all wanted my Black with Pink Ladies
Army National Guard Hoodie that I wore today...
Clayton you better earn some more points to get
these cute girls their own "hoodie".
Clayton's store Owner, Brad ~ nice job he does with a clean store and great food. My compliments at all "visits".

I love this cow in her "slippers & robe"...
So, once I went into Chick-fil-a, visited with Clayton, his coworkers & managers, I left with "Sweet Tea" in hand. I had prearranged for his General Manager to meet me outside for his special "to work" delivery. John wasn't long getting out, he used the back door ~ cool Edible Arrangement in hand with "Mom" instructions and a "Thank you" ~ he went back inside with the delievery.

I was so excited that my "plan" worked that I went to the drivers side of the "Yukon" to return home... one birthday surprise handled... not so fast, in my haste the keys were locked inside.... yikes.. I could call "Nannie" to come get me to retreive the extra keys from home, but no ~ my "cell phone" was inside the locked "Yukon". Rats....

I have to go back in the Chick-fil-a,
in the middle of the "birthday prize" and ask Clayton for his car keys... so I could go home and get the extra key......
oh, well. I'm not as young as I once was..... I have "CRS"...
Now, off to get "Nannie" ~ so David and I can treat Clayton to his "birthday dinner" ~ Mexican.YUM~!

promises more pictures for post 63... stay tuned...
