Happy 12th Birthday Vintage Village

I can remember buying my first antique secretary when I was in high school ~ the lady that owned the store was so nice. She let me put it on layaway since I was a student with little money from my part~time job. I still have that special piece ~ think I will keep it forever.

That was the beginning of my love for antiques & collectibles of my very own.

I remember as a much younger girl ~ like the picture of Nana and I on my blog page ~ going on treasure hunts with my sweet parents ~ they adored the hunt for bargains too ~ so guess I got that gene from them. I can remember wondering if I would ever have a store like that ladies where I purchased that secretary on layaway... so, it is. After being a dealer for a few years in other shops ~ my dream came true ~! Largely due to a fabulous~ wonderful~terrific~ brilliant partner ~ who's my dear friend & our banker. 12 years have passed ~ those early days were so scary ~ not many dealers, not much good stuff, not much to hang on to. Now, well you know we have come along way. I'm grateful for this lovely shop ~ our wonderful talented dealers ~ all our marvelous vintage inventory ~ and on and on....

Each day a new gift in my dream come true.

Jim is Nancy's husband ~ she is one of our many special dealers.

He came early to collect his loot ~ and walked away happy indeed.

Wren/Braves/Elsa & Cp helped on this first day of festivities.

We had refreshments from Chick~fil~a & enjoyed every bite.

A special treat each day until May 8 ~ wait til you see what we are eating today.

Chick fil a ~ Brownies... of course, we had something fattening too.

Little ones... patiently waiting ~ think they may be my favorite part.

Paulina was a happy little customer too. She laughed and loved having her picture taken

while Mom, Rosa waited her turn.

Can hardly wait to get back to the village today.... always special festivities.

Special treat today ~ tomorrow, our first Parking Lot Sale of 2009.

Wonder... if LuLu (2chippys) will really camp in her RV overnight for the sale tomorrow ~ or better than that... wonder.... if she will show up in her birthday suit. Either way, she really needs to come see us.

best on your birthday and the years to come. Relatively new to the "village" but a "keeper" &
a "sweetie" ~ I love working with Pam ~ so energetic and enthusiastic, bet you didn't know you would have this much fun after retiring from "delta" ~ hope you stay with us forever ~

"LBI" has some really cool vintage Easter postcards ~ even some "tucks" that just came in the "village". She always has great "seasonal goodies" ~ Had to get a couple old Easter postcards on Tuesday ~ yes, more purchases. Hope David isn't peaking in today ~ cause he will tell you "I don't need one more thing at home....". Oh, well.

Yes, Lindsey wedding is coming up ~ got some neat supplies and a really cool "book" at the "village" ~ has some great things for everyday - not just weddings so It's a keeper. Yes, beautiful vintage lace, paper products for a "shower" ~ all from the "village". We have a bit of everything. Part of my "Tuesday" purchases....

have you heard of "Matilda Jane" ? - really super cute comfy clothes, for ladies too. "trunk show" with their new spring line in one of "my spots" at the "village" ~ March 9 from 10 a.m~1 p.m ~ I will have some 'freshments to share, come shop at the "village" and see "Matilda Jane", something I wanted to share with all of you ~ I will be ordering some for myself for sure~!

So far, so good on one of my "resolutions" ~ I have been eating a healthy breakfast so far this year ~ trouble is, I'm not usually hungry in the early morning, but today ~ I slept in a bit til about 8:00 so I've now eaten my "special k".

In, the meantime.... when you must do "paperwork" hrrrr....

eat "Easter Kisses" ~ they are good medicine.

Now, Must tell you I'm excited that "tlw" posted a comment ~ She is learning on the "computer" my friend who does such a "beautiful" traditional spot at the "village" ~ who keeps her grandbabies every day~! So, there is little time for posting comments but I'm glad I got one. Thank you, Jeanine.

think I'll put a "brisket" in for dinner, sounds good.

then more "paperwork" & today some errands, I need some time away from these numbers... not often that I take two days in a row off.

Gold Buy ~ Special Event at Vintage Village ~ Thursday Feb. 12

Special Event at the "Village: this week. One of our Valued Customers Husband will be buying Gold, 14k or above, Platinum, Sterling Silver & Old Coins on Thursday, February 12 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (he will be there until the last seller is finished) ~ CASH on the spot. Good way to turn broken gold or silver chains, single earrings or anything that you don't wear any longer into cash. I have Lindsey's wedding coming up this summer, with cabins to rent & cakes & cookies to pay for, So, I will be selling all that I have dug around to find. Amazing, how many single earrings I had - and a couple knotted up gold chains that would take me years to untangle. I was given a 1944 quarter with some change on Saturday so I think I will take that, its silver.

Come Sell on Thursday ~ Refreshments served (there from Chick-Fil-A, where Clayton works) yummy and actually pretty good for you~ and of course, you can shop while you are there, New Vintage Treasures arrive daily.

This is going to be a busy busy week, I'm in the shop most afternoons and a couple full days towards the end of the week. I have some Pretty Vintage China to add ~ it looks like Spring. Some Valentines Packages to get in the mail for my Special Folks & the Gold Buy, Thursday. Then, can't wait to share what I'm making for our Valentines Dessert~ new recipe but it looks amazing. I will take pictures along the "bake" and share the recipe with you later in the week. I've been working on my "playlist" - think I finally have it like I want it. Now, if I can only master pictures, I'll really like this blog. I am however, happy to have this avenue to share "stuff" that means a great deal to me with all of you. Still have some features rolling around in my mind on Our Wonderful Children, My Amazing Husband, My Wonderful Partner & Dear Friend & the "Village" ~ Hag 2 ~Linda, Many more Fabulous "Village" Dealers ~ so stay tuned.
