Sebastian's Birthday ~ Where's the "Paw-ty"

Sebastian's 5th Birthday
September 16, 2010
"Where's the Paw-ty"
Why, of course... we surely know when our puppies birthdays are and never miss a year
singing Happy Birthday tunes even before breakfast. This year was no exception. Sadie was a bit confused although amused none the less as she turned her head one way then another with the little nub wiggling.

Such a pretty boy... all distinguished and handsome at 5.

Rough & tumble like any other day with his Sister ~ Little Monkey Sadie

In celebration of Sebastian's birthday since there really wasn't a "paw-ty" just
song & dance, new dental chewies (their favorite)
and a breakfast of Solid Gold (we'll call that the eggs)
with yummy birthday Gravy (warm water to soak the kibble) any of you with young
children and grandchildren (or, any of you that are "kids at heart")
are invited to print & color the birthday puppy below ~
once complete send to

sPeCiAl Folks ~ Those with Mad Talent ~ The Little White Guy wants to be a movie star

Be yourself. An original is always worth more than a copy.
Sometimes it's the littlest of things that make the biggest impact for me each day.
A little thing like going junkin' one Saturday with the gals ~ We met the most amazing gals.
Those kinds of gals that have Mad Talent.
There is Mad Talent most anywhere you just have to step back and recognize
that it is what it is.
You'll notice I've changed my play list around this morning ~ to recognize some of those folks with this kind of talent ~ David Archuleta, Adam Lambert & Kris Allen just to name a few.
Now, if you are reading this post you will notice right away there are others with Mad Talent apparant in all they do. A couple of these gals are part of the ones I met on that junkin' trip that Saturday. I'd love to tell you about them. Do you happen to know the 2chippys? Laurie & LuLu ~ they possess that Mad Talent that astounds me, even after all these years in my business of bliss. Oh, I've heard lots over the years about these girls.... I see now why there such good friends with many of you ~ like Time Worn Interiors, Theresa.
By now you must know that anytime my friend the camera comes out in our home,
there is this precious little white guy named Sebastian that has to be the center
of all our photographs.
Think maybe he wants to be a movie star... what a ham.
Sebastian, what are you wearing ~ is that my......
original LuLu 2chippys Junk Necklace?

This is ~ LuLu ~ this wild & somewhat crazy lady will do most anything to make us laugh.
Mad Talent ~ It's in there ~ apparent in all that she touches.
I am know the proud owner of one of her many Original Junk Necklaces.
It's around my neck ~ to wear proudly. One she made just for me...
See Cyndi~ ByLightOfMoon mine does
have bling.... & of course... diamonds ~!

My new junk necklace is a favored possession ~ only had it a few days but unlike all those gold & sterling pieces that will be sold today at the village ~ my necklace will not be. For any price ~ it's just all mine to treasure. Did you want to see?

With so many junks (not really) ~ it's hard to get into one picture.
Cyndi ~ do you see all my green & blue diamonds ~ they are very rare.

So, I tried a different background ~ my counter top. Do you see all the junk pieces?

Then it hit me ~ it's a 2chippys ~ so I'll take pictures in my chippy wheelbarrow out front.
Just for you LuLu ~ chippy enough for you? It's one of my fav's in the garden.
I may even like it better than all those pretty posies.
Not the necklace ~ the chippy wheelbarrow.

Had to shoo the little crow away who was pecking at my junk jewels...

We all cherish those things favorite. For me, a new junk necklace from my new friend LuLu ~ 2chippys. My next purchase or should I say neck purchase ~ will be a Laurie ~ 2chippys necklace. These gals have every ounce of that mad talent we all wish for. You haven't met them? Make that a priority ~ I hope with each visit to their spot that some of their mad talent will jump out and land on my shoulder ~ they are amongst my fav's to shop with & to covet my junk purchases from.

mad talent ~ i'll take some of that, please.... ~one vintage hag

New "village" Pictures... Upstairs & some downstairs... look what I got... Somebody Got a Spring HairCut~ Cute sTuFf

As promised, some pictures from today at the "village" ~ mostly upstairs...
but got a few downstairs too... will share those tomorrow with all of you.
These type post serve two purposes..... to let you know what we have
currently in the way of vintage "wares" ~ see something you like call us
we will be happy to "ship" to you ~ or hold (two hours...)
til you can get there. Tell us when you call who's spot its in...
770.978.0013
And, to let the talented, creative, wonderful dealers of the "village" see how
their spots look on the "web" ~ if you don't like how your spot looks ~
come in and change it up....

Worked with Wren & North today... sorry girls, your on "candid camera".
Taryn, keep an eye on the "blog" ~ might see something "Mom" can
bring home to you....
A view going up the stairs..... how cool is that. Thanks for your hard
work Tlw & Cp. It always looks so inviting going up...

Cute, darling, fabulous Vintage Easter Arrangement... think its about $12.00
in the Cp/Tlw spot at the top of the stairs.

Bet you didn't know Mvh has a spot up too... she's got three spots in all.

Cp, there is a "woman" atop your jewelry case.... she has on a cool vintage black hat... sort of reminds me of a "Pretty Woman" hat...just a different color.

Cp where in the world did you find this Vintage Pant Suit?
Ready for spring,
flowers all over the place...

If... you like blue, or delft or blue transfer ware, or anything else that
might come in blue...... visit the Cp room ~ top floor to the left of the
staircase....
Love this bunny riding in her old shopping cart... where did that come from Mmg's?

This Mother Daughter team (Mmg) has an eye for cool vintage wares... I've been on a trip
buying with them. Much more in that Suburban and they wouldn't have had
room to ride home inside... maybe on the roof top in the luggage rack....~!
They have a whole center room that's packed out upstairs & another downstairs...

Fondly known as "Sparkle" at the "village" ~ "Has" has the best stuff...
all done up with "sparkle" & "glitz" ~ no wonder that's what we
call her... Come by for a visit in the "Has Spot".
Or if you'd like ~ email me and I'll give you her "website" address....
In what other Antiques & Collectibles shop can you buy "ducks" from a sink?
There is one for every season + some... and that sure is a cute
rag frog & lamb. Bet they could all go in the tub. "Sam" carries these
in the booth in the left corner upstairs.
Same spot ~ "Sam" & "Braves" combined their talents and went into the
large left corner... I've never seen so many small treasures in one spot.

"Ratso" ~ I love your old concrete kitty... she needs a new patio
to live on this spring. How much is she?

Fairly new to our business, "Ratso" has lots of treasures in her spot.
Her talent for display is amazing... and with all that light it looks so "cozy".
She carries beautiful wares, all ready for a new home. Come shop~!
Lots of old silver plate.. baby cups, compotes & creamers can be found in
the "Camp" Spot.

Older Breyer Horses, Beautiful old art ~ hence the name "Camp"

At the Auction Houses every week... "Camp" has an eye for different treasures
than most of us offer.
Decorating a cabin or lake house.. this spot is your shopping destination.

"Piggy's" Spots (there are many, 7 at last count...) are full of interesting
old birds, china & kitchy souvenir wares.
My gosh, she has got the stuff...
"hag 2" we should name an aisle for her upstairs. Yes, they all have names.
We were first at that in our "area". There are many "posers..."
if it has a "bird" on it... it can be found in "Piggy's" places...
she was my "room mate" on a recent buying trip and she loaded
up, I mean loaded up her truck the second day... we had several to go.
All I'd hear about while trying to sleep... I could put some stuff in the
"bird cages" or put some stuff in the old "bread boxes" or put some stuff.... &
again over breakfast the next morning, and again during out next stops...
enough already~! You need a full size moving truck~!
Only, worn once... this darling old child's dress can be found in the new
spot of SSCC upstairs... I'm loving your look girls...

They also have pillows.. looking a bit like "Pottery Barn" ~ so if you
adore that look ~ come see them for the handmade too dang cute pillows... "SSCC"

I just adore this look... I'll take one of everything.
No, sorry ~ I'm full up at this cozy little condo.
"SSCC" upstairs on the right aisle...at the "village" of course...
you knew I'd take my camera with to pick up lunch at "Uncle Betty's" ~ yum, it
was "Chicken & Dumplin day" with fresh warm homemade Pineapple Cobbler...

Looking for a spot for a "fish house" ~ we'd have lunch there too~, its ready to go... and
right by "Uncle Betty's" ~ Cool deal~!

Only worked a half day today... had to pick up my handsome boy...
Look who got a "hair cut" ~ so cute~!, but flash hurt his eyes ~
he's been napping... in the office while "Mom works".

"Mom" ~ I really don't think they care about my "hair cut" ~ sure they do "Sebastian..."

Now the best part... look what I got today. Darling "d" notebook... for my "notes".
I love the letter "d" you know.

I've learned since his "birthday boy post" that Clayton is peaking in
each day on my blog... heard my music today coming up the stairs...
Now, Lindsey if you are checking in on me today... this is the cutest little votive lantern from the"village" ~ got it from SSCC~ today ~
what do you think about doing these in your
wedding colors to put along the walk to your evening wedding spot?
That'd be way cool~!
here, a close up so you can see if you like it? I think its "pReCiOuS"~!
Not your wedding colors, but would you like it for your deck in your
new home ~ I could get some votives for you too.
Gosh, "Baby" if you are checking in... this too cool big green glass jar
was from your friend, Carla.
It will be great on the patio for "candle light dinners" when the weather is pretty.
Love the bIg pink flower too...
the little straw purse isn't going to live with us,
its for a gift, loaded with "surprises..." fun, hu?

I've decided that "shopping" is my favorite at the "village" ~ are you "loving" us yet?
Stay tuned, since I exceeded the picture limit today... there are plenty more
for tomorrow... took ummm..92 pictures today~! Yeah~
just keeps getting better & better...

"Sebastian" ~ New Dealers & Slaying your "Giants"

Do you know about "Schnauzers" ? ~ They are very Smart, Loyal, can be like a "Strong Willed Child" if you allow that, Protective, Territorial, they are Sturdy, have great "big dog" Personalities. They don't shed ~ and they come packaged many different ways.
Ours is a "miniature". Weighing about 17 pounds ~ no shedding, hypo-allergenic.
Meet "Sebastian" ~ "The Brat", Inspector General, The King. Our 4 legged child that rules this roost. He loves it when "Nannie" comes for a visit or "Lindsey" & "Clayton" are here ~ "play time" ~ not that he won't chase a ball that David and I throw for hours... He has a his "spot" in our Bed. Big ole brat~! We hope that "Sebastian"~ (yes, he is white and that is unusual) will be a "daddy" soon ~ his hopeful Wife, "Belle" is a cutie pie - she is petite ~ black & silver.
Funny how dogs already instinctively know to be "confident" to "dream big" ~ I understand they don't have perception of "size". What a great way to "slay your giants" ~ if you didn't realize how big they were. Same goes for "fear" ~ and almost always we see new "fearful" prospective dealers.
"If you believe in yourself, things are possible."

"Be Yourself. An original is worth more than a copy."

"You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing we call 'failure' is not the falling down, but the staying down."

Above are some of my Motto’s for every day ~ I tell new dealers about these things, what they will experience and what to expect as they begin their journeys. What a fabulous start to a new endeavor in our business. What I call the “business of bliss”. We have some amazing new dealers that have joined the “village” and some experienced dealers that “have come home” ~ back to the place where they started their journey.
SSCCShana & Christy, Lslb ~ Leah, Lew ~ Lynn & Jimmy we are honored to have “all of you”. And even Ratso ~ Rachel, is pretty new to our business.

You make the individuality of our business have meaning.

All with different looks, different wares and different display techniques come to fruition.
Your individual talents ~ make our shop ~ our “picky dealer choices” really show. Not a day goes by that customers comment about “how pretty”, “how well displayed”, “how interesting" & "how much selection of wares” the “Village” offers.

So as we “Welcome” you to the “Village” ~ I Thank Each of You for contributing your gracious talents to our “big picture” ~ you make us “the coziest shop around”~! I wish you all the best in “selling” ~ in this new endeavor for each of you ~

The Antiques & Collectibles Business.

Just got a call from "Fox", who still has a bad cold "Feel Better soon , HM" ~ she and her terrific Sunday Crew ~ "Elsa" & "Sam" ~ beat my busy Saturday totals to a "pulp" yesterday - they were only there a little more than 4 hours and beat Saturday, U-P. Now, when we are that busy - I know all too well ~ some dealers don't get calls that "big treasures" sold ~ so "Fox" mentioned just a few ~ "Has" sold a piece, "VV 3 & 4's" vanity was picked up, "Fox" sold that pretty dresser and mirror with the floral embellishments. And, my "wonderful vintage porch swing" was picked up, too. Busy days up and down those "stairs" make you sleep real good,
Thanks Girls for our Super Busy Day~!

Some pictures really soon, gotta get the "new batteries" charged in this "Giant of mine" ~ the "camera" so you can see for yourselves their really pretty, really talented selection of wares.
Come by and see for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.

~one vintage hag
p.s ~ i haven't forgotten to tell you about the "trying Thursday Drama ~ almost ready.... I will give you a sneak peak
14 - 8th grade football players ~ vandelism ~ trespassing ~ federal felony charges....
p.s.s ~ "My Vintage Heart" where are you? Are you back with a truck load of treasures? Write something soon so I know you are back with us.....
