Showers Showers Showers ~ aren't weddings great~! Happy Birthday Sea Witch

So, as not to forget a very special birthday mixed in with all these Wedding Showers I'm attending ~ a Very Happy Birthday to The Sea Witch.
Sunday, May 17, 2009

Dari (that's the sea witch) does so much for vintage village & the shack out back
with her keen photography, web design & maintenance for our shop websites.
Blogger (something she started recently, yippee)
She is a talented dealer of the village ~ remember, I've told you about her very descriptive sales tags... love those & all the vintage wares she adds to the her spot.
Guess I could sum her up well by just saying ~ this multifaceted wonderful charming
lady is a keeper.
So very glad that she is my friend.
Happiest of Birthdays Sea Witch
hoping that the years ahead bring all your wishes.
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding in the Bahamas, too.
Head on over to her blog and wish her a happy day tomorrow...

Isn't this a great picture.
Yes, from another Lindsey & Steven Wedding Shower.
Hosted by her Maid of Honor, Amanda (who is also getting married in October of this year).
A couples shower that I received pictures of today.
Loved this one so I had to share.
(Left to right ~back to front) ~ Kayleigh (Stevens brother Drew's, girlfriend) , Kristen (Lindsey's cousin Tylers girlfriend), Lacy (she is a maid in Lindsey's upcoming wedding~ they grew up together and have brothers born the same day, same year ~ what a cutie) Jessie (Steven's sister ~ she is a wedding attendant as well ~ she'll be on Steven's side at the wedding) Lindsey (my precious daughter, the bride) Amanda (in pink ~ she and Lindsey also grew up together... friends for years, each with a special place in their
upcoming weddings...Maid & Matron of Honor)
In front red dress... Holly (also a maid ~ she and Lindsey attended
Young Harris college together, had loads of college fun).
Clear as mud... hope so. I have trouble keeping up with it all too.
That isn't even all ~ you will meet Megan (another maid) and the remainder of
the wedding party in a post for another day. Shew...
Tomorrow, yes you guessed it ~ another shower. This time with family/friends
for Pampered Chef. Can't wait to taste all those delicious recipes that will be prepared.
Weddings... busy fun filled times. So that's me... the brides Mom.
Once we get beyond this weekend... perhaps I will have time to spend on other post that
have nothing to do with the wedding.
Gosh... so much fun.

A Suprise package in today's mail ~ Bloggie Swag... for this ~hag

Appreciate every moment of every day
because in retrospect they will all be gone to fast.
With that quote on my blog when I logged in today~ I wanted to share the excitement
I had while working at the village today for a bit.
Our sweet mail lady came with our mail ~ there was a package included.
For this ~hag... oh, goodness I love surprises.
The return address ~ Need this Antiques.
Wow, that's Musings of a Sea Witch.
Wonder what she sent me? Then I realized, I can only peak. Bloggers take pictures of packages they receive ~ so, I did just that. Until I arrived home to unpack & photograph
each & every thing. I posted my pictures in reverse order of sorts... I'm so dang excited
with my surprise package ~ so, let me tell you all about it.
A big heavy flat rate box sent USPS Priority.

Once opening began, the little white guy got in on the act.
Guess he knew there had to be something inside he would want.
Sebastian is so curious about anything that comes home ~ he must sniff it out
and once his seal of approval is granted, it can stay home with us.
So far, a Piece of Cake recipe book & a nice letter inside.

Oh boy, a fabulous rose coffee table book. Look at these outstanding pictures.
I will spend hours inside studying ~ I love roses, don't you?

It has a fabulous cover. La Rose will be a treasure in this hag home.

An envelope with a note ~ Pretty Victorian Scraps and a gorgeous leaf.
I think that leaf will be my page marker in the wonderful book I received.
Oh, my... all these pretties.
What in the world did I do to deserve such a terrific surprise package?

If you know this hag ~ you know I live in flip flops. As soon as our weather
hints of warmth ahead, they are on my feet.
Royal Blue flip flops a new color for me ~ with a great flower atop.
Gosh, they are my size & everything. I love this package...

Sebastian was right ~ there was something inside for him.
A note with a bag of treats for him from, Kota. That's Dari's sweet pooch.
He loved his treats... they only lasted minutes.

Convinced there was something. How do our 4 legged children always know
when they should be be attentive. Sebastian however is always nosey.

The letter ~ Let me tell you what it said...
Dear Debbie:
One of the things I love about blogs is that it is a paradox of personal communication.
We are using the web to send out instant communication to friends, both old and new.
Fast and with pictures and thoughts and links to so many things generations back would never comprehend. And yet, from all of this, we have returned to snail mail to send out bloggie swag...little packages of treats, goodies and neat things to have. I mentioned to you early on that I had received something from as far away as New Zealand. A fellow spinner had sent me a small package of beautifully crimped lambs wool for spinning with silk. It was unexpected and that was the fun behind this. I never expected it and it arrived only because of her blog. I want to pass on that same kind of surprise to folks through my blog. About the only thing we receive in the mail nowadays are bills, advertisements and such. So, I am pleased to send to you my first box of bloggie swag. Why, because I have so enjoyed your blog and have made it the first thing I want to read in the morning. You have introduced me to so many creative people through this venue. New friends that I hope will become old ones as we share the things that we enjoy.
Inside you will find:
1. Wonderful coffee table book about roses. I remember you mentioning somewhere that you adore roses.
2. You can never have too many flip flops for the summer. I hope they fit. (exactly my thoughts on flip flops ~ and they fit perfectly).
3. An envelope containing Victorian scraps. She knows i will put to good use.
4. Every girl needs a 50's fun cookbook of recipes. Enjoy these.
5. Last but not least, a little gift pack for Sebastian from Kota.
~Dari

Can you believe this? I'm a bit in shock ~ overwhelmed with her generosity.
This is the sweetest surprise package, made my day. Sebastian & I are both delighted with the contents of this USPS box from the Sea Witch.
Friends like Dari & Kota are amongst our most valued asset.
I know this Sea Witch well enough to know that she'd be delighted if I pass along this
bloggie swag. So, watch your mail. It won't be the package I received but a similar one picked just for you. If I can't win giveaways (still waiting on my first) ~ then I would like to pass along these surprise packages full of treats, goodies & neat things to have
to blog friends like each of you.
Ms. (soon to be Mrs.) Sea Witch ~ Need This Antiques ~
I count it a privilege to have you as my friend. Both on and off our blogs.
I appreciate your generosity and will treasure my goodies from you in hopes that
some of your talent will jump off into my lap.
Thank you so much for my surprise Bloggie Swag. Your friendship, my dearest treat.
Hugs.... ~one vintage hag

Ella's back from her special trip with Kim ~ to Paris.
She picked her birthday hat ~ a chenille lampshade.

At the crack... that's before daylight ~ we were up preparing for our special day.
Our first 2009 Parking Lot Sale.
Bargain's galore amidst the many tents in front of our cozy shop.
It was a marvelous day.

Lot's to choose from ~ this great wonderful chippy garden set in pink was one
of the offerings on our hot pavement Saturday.
It's a beauty ~ just right chippy ~ see Laurie & LuLu...

Tents, tents & more tents.
I didn't have a tent ~ but did have a cooler of ice cold drinks.
Today, aglow with yesterday's sunshine all over my face, shoulders, arms & some leg.
We had help from hubbies & our village friends ~ days like this we need all the friends we can get ~ to sell others items, help loading treasures for customers ~ even in tent set up.
Thanks to all who offered help.

You've heard we offer all but the kitchen sink.
That's true everyday.
Saturday, we had all including a 2000 Harley Davidson.
Look Cat Daddy ~ we needed you and Trash Talk for a test drive.

Ms. Willie was there ~ with her made from scratch cakes & breads.
I got a whole chocolate pound cake... Y~U~M~!

Whimsy had her darling daughter, Hannah selling with us.
What a cutie ~ glad we had some time with her today.
I got something from her... but it's a secret. Lindsey looks in & it happens to
be for her ~ a special shower decoration she will surely adore.

The birthday bash continues til May 8. Special every day.
Wait til you see our other special days. I have many pictures yet to share.
Can't end this portion of the post without a big XO to the special hubby's at the village.
Of all days... our air conditioning went out upstairs.
It was 84 at 6:00 a.m. ~ William came by from our service company and pumped our unit full of freon ~ then, later in the day. Paul & Jimmy went up the roof shoot to check on the iced up unit before we turned it back on. Made me a nervous wreck... ice thawed... hubby's off the roof that's close to the sky... we have air again. Yeah... cool for our hot Georgia Days...
Happy Birthday today ~ Mr. Lew ~ Jimmy~!

I've told you before about our special friend ~ talented village dealer ~ resident mermaid.
That's Dari. She offers us all help including me... on any web issue.
She told me how to do this little blog... and I did. Happy to have this special venue to use a bit of my time in. Happy to have all my new blog friends & for the connection to those friends I miss. Anyway, Dari who's getting married in the Bahamas the end of May ~
now has a blog of her own. She's joined ~
and my little blog whom all have blogs where you can get a better look at what we adore ~ including the village.
Go visit now... you won't be disappointed. Her new blog ~ musings of a sea witch.
As her heading proclaims ~ she does have the ability to exist underwater ~
we are most grateful that she exist in our land.
A fabulous talented amazing generous spirit ~ in our midst.
Her first post... left me with teary eyes. She's very kind, you'll see.
I'll be checking in on her blog daily now ~ along with all those other places I visit.
Another reason to have a grateful spirit ~ another who shares all that inspiration.
My daily doses from each of you every day.
